Quinta da Saraiva

Pros: Comfortable, great bedroom, lovely pool and quiet for a great night of sleep.

Cons: Missing a fridge in the bedroom and a real coffee machine, also prices of drinks etc were far to expensive when comparing to similar or better hotels around

Pros: Everything was comfortable in the room. The breakfast is really delicious.

Cons: The jacuzzi was often too hot or too cold to use, off the four nights we were here, we were only able to use it once properly. The instructions around parking could be clearer as you’d need to drive through a very narrow alley to get to the hotel/parking lot. It turned out to be ok but it would be helpful to have instructions in advance. Also the check-in instructions could’ve been clearer. We were told that reception is open between 9am-9pm before coming but turns out that’s only for weekdays. On weekends it’s 1-9pm.

Pros: We liked pretty much everything about the place. The room was big with equipped kitchen Ann with big balcony with nice view in the mountains and the sea.

Cons: The jacuzzi didn’t bubble much and was kinda cold.

Lovely stay in Camara de Lobos

Pros: We had a lovely stay at Quinta da Saraiva. The hotel's location is great, overlooking Camara de Lobos and the surrounding hills, with great views all around. Camara de Lobos itself is within walking distance, about 20 minutes downhill (we took a taxi back up...!). Our room was a little smaller than expected, but it had a nice balcony/terrace. The pool / garden area was lovely! The highlight has to be the incredible breakfast spread that is offered - everything was fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Cons: It is a little tricky to access the hotel by car, as the driveway is hidden and you have to drive on a VERY narrow alley. Perhaps this could've been explained prior to arrival. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi also stopped working on our second night, although the staff tried to help.

If you want to feel like home, book Quinta da Saraiva

Beautiful, peaceful and friendly stay with excellent service.

Pros: Amazing breakfast! So delicious and fresh,and the homemade bread was to die for. Rooms and the view were stunning. If we are ever in Madeira again we will stay here. Beautiful property with history and character. Loved the resident kitty, Mel and the goats! Such a gem of a place to stay.

Cons: Nothing, this stay exceeded our expectations and was amazing. Only thing we didn’t love were the firm pillows 😊

Perfect.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Absolutely need a car (parking might seem a bit of a challenge to an inexperienced driver but (s)he'll get used to it). Nice beach+restaurant (open till quite late) nearby (Ribeira Brava). Perfect starting point for excursions. Clean rooms & facilities, nice rooms (there may be some mosquitoes), comfortable beds. Fantastic terrace. Nice view. Wines & bananas!

This was our favourite property out of all the places we stayed whilst touring Madeira , you won’t regret staying here.

Pros: Outstanding views and beautiful property and very peaceful. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it has a very personal feel to it and highly recommend to all.
