Magical, beautiful and perfect
Pros: Magical!! Peaceful!! Beautiful!! The hosts were exceptional, so kind and welcoming and genuine, lovely people. Comfy beds, fab location… I can’t sing it enough praises!! 100% you should stay here for the most fantastic madeiran stay!!! Kids loved paddling in the water, feeding the fish and ducks, and the breakfast was delicious

Beautiful, memorable stay in a little corner of paradise
Pros: We had a beautiful stay at Moinho de Comandante - if you're looking for somewhere really special and memorable to stay, you won't regret booking Carlos' beautiful home. He has created a real oasis with a stunning garden, overlooking a beautiful river, nestled in a verdant valley. We watched ducks looking after their ducklings from our window, walked along the river and around the beautiful grounds, and thoroughly enjoyed the tasty breakfast prepared for us each morning. The house is cosy and charming and has all you could need. We used it as a base for many terrific hikes - it is near the popular lookout at Ribiero Frio, and it is easy to access alot of the other beautiful trials Madeira has to access.

Pros: The Moinho is located in a beautiful valley with lots of nature around. It is a very relaxing environment, you don't hear anything except for the birds and the river. Carlos is the best host you can imagine. He has lots of stories to tell, gives very useful hints, is always available for questions. And he makes a wonderful breakfast. The scrambled and fried eggs are made upon request. Every day he comes with another small surprise of local specialities. The appartement is very cosy, on cooler days the wood stove makes it nice warm. We totally felt at home. We enjoyed staying here a lot, thanks for everything!
Cons: You need to keep in mind that some of the listed equipment is not available in your private living area, such as washing machine, dryer, toaster, oven. You can use them in the communal breakfast room. As written, it is very cosy, with lots of blankets and carpets. There will be some sneezing if you are sensitive...

Pros: In short, Best stay ever. It's like having your private valley, far away from the mass tourism. Carlos is a great host, has lots of stories to share and is also a great source of places to visit. The breakfast is massive, whith something new every day. If you like to be a bit off the beaten track, you will love this.

Mesmerizing place to return
Pros: Beautiful sourrounding and garden. Great hospitality. If you are looking for a quite relaxing place to find peace and gain refreshment from daily routine. This is the perfect place to be. Extraordinary breakfast aline your preferences with scrambled eggs a la Carlos. Exciting travel through the mountains of Madeira. Do all your shopping before arrival as the next supermarket is some way to go.
