Casa D`Avó Celina

Pros: We had a wonderful time at Casa d'Avo Celina. We got a warm welcome from the owner who handed us the keys and had left a lovely welcome cake and a bottle of Madeira wine for us. The house is very comfortable and the outside space is just amazing with different places to sit and relax. We had rented a car and all the best hikes are easily reached by car. The bus stop is around the corner and within 20 minutes you are in the center of Funchal, saving yourself the trouble of finding a parking spot. There is a shopping center close to the house with a very well equipped supermarket, which was super helpful too. We hope to be back one day and can warmly recommend this lovely home.

Comfortable accommodation in excellent location

Pros: Location excellent for visiting Funchal & east of the island. Large supermarket / shopping centre 2mins walk away. Secure parking at hosts house next door. Comfortable accommodation in a quiet are. Hosts were attentive - lovely home made cake, wine & bananas much appreciated.

Cons: The stormy weather!!

Pros: Perfect place, perfect house, perfect garden, perfect location I can only say good things about this place. It was also pleasure to meet Angelo and his family. I hope we can return back one day.

Pros: Very good place ... quiet and calm at night, not far from the shopping center , the owner provides a parking space at his place - close by and very safe. Excellent house with everything you need during your vacation.... Don't worry about charging your phones and morning coffee (there is a coffee machine). Fresh cake and a bottle of Madeira made by the owners will simply conquer you! We were very pleased, pleasant memories and want to come back again) Very recommended

Pros: The owners are very nice. We received a beautiful and delicious cake and homemade wine as a welcome. We appreciate it a lot! The accommodation is clean, well equipped and cozy. We felt at home there. Marshall, the friendly cat, greeted us every morning. He was our buddy for the whole week 😁 We appreciated the parking in the owners' garden, where there is a gate and the car is safe. We really liked it here and I want to thank you very much for allowing us to spend our vacation in a pleasant environment. I can only recommend!

Pros: Angelo is a super host, he showed us everything and was very helpful with local info. The best thing about the apartment is its locality, quiet, green, steps away from the shopping center and gas station. Bus stop for Funchal city center some 50 meters away. Parking in Angelo's yard with a motorized gate. Lots of space, powerful WiFi. Two bathrooms, two bedrooms. One of the best accommodations we experienced on our trips.

Beautiful place and a great choice for the families

Pros: The accommodation was fantastic and the host Angelo was very nice and willing to help anytime. Our flight was delayed, but it was not a problem at all to come later in the night as expected. We were welcomed with homed made cake, vine and avocados. It was very calm place in the middle of banana trees with amazing views. We enjoyed having breakfast on one of the terraces in the morning with the company of the cat Marshall or sitting in the evening outside and watching the sunset. The big shopping mall was very close (approximately 2 minutes’ walk) and it was opened every day till night, so you could buy whatever you need, or just go for a coffee or some food. I would really recommend this house.

Spacious apartment in Funchal surrounded by banana trees with a great host - absolutely recommended

Pros: The apartment is in a large house which is surrounded by an amazing garden full with banana trees. Very spacious, more than enough room for a family of four (We were with two teenagers). Two terraces with ocean view, and one to grill. There is a huge shopping center 2 minutes walk from the house, with fast food restaurants and a grocery store open until late in the evening. So you can easily do your shopping either in the morning or late in the evening when you arrive home from your daily trip. The center of Funchal is a bit far, but easily accessible by bus. The bus stop is just right at the corner. Angelo is a great host, helpful and informative. We loved their cat, Marshall, who came around the house every morning and also in the evenings. If your priority is not going out every evening in the center, but have a large and well equipped apartment in a peaceful street with beautiful garden and view, I absolutely recommend Angelo's place.

Pros: Great place! Almost always pictures exaggerate the place, here it's the opposite. An amazing villa for friends and family. Never used the BBQ but it's a great feature.
