Horizon Retreat

Pros: The view was amazing, the patio was perfect to read a book and enjoy the pool. The host is great and makes sure you have everything. This is a quiet place perfect to relax, i wish i would have stayed longer.

Pros: Absolutely recommendable! A superbly located, very clean, and well-maintained accommodation. The rooms offer everything you need, especially the terrace and pool, which are very nice and offer breathtaking views. Above all, we'd like to highlight our hosts, Alan and Josephine: super friendly and accommodating, they provide many great tips for the area, and they were very helpful when we had a problem with our car. Thank you so much! 🤗

Horizon retreat review

Pros: We truly enjoyed everything about our stay. From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the helpful recommendations on local places to eat and explore – everything was outstanding. Alan, the host, was incredibly kind and accommodating. He let us use his personal kitchen equipment and was always available to help and support us when needed. We especially appreciated the friendly conversations and the overall relaxing, positive atmosphere in the house. It felt like being among friends. We absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming retreat.

A perfect stay!

Pros: Everything is according to the pictures. A beautiful, scenic property which is peaceful. Alan is super friendly and accommodating. The home-gym available is perfect. This accommodation is self catering so make sure to buy some groceries for your stay. We knew this beforehand. Alan’s kitchen is perfect for everything you need. We loved eating our breakfast each morning outside. There are also restaurants a short drive away. This place is a perfect place to stay to experience the other side of the island.

Pros: Great morning views, good facilities and a friendly owner. Alan clearly puts his all into this place and will help with whatever you need.

We would highly recommend Alan’s accommodations!

Horizon Retreat, see you next time!

Pros: Alan is the most friendly and helpfull host you can have. That's so nice. We felt very welcome. The pool is heated, which is awesome! The dog is super sweet, please give him/her a hug!! There was plenty of information provided in the room and all kind of utilities were available.

Cons: We are no fan of shower curtains as it sometimes stick to your body. As the shower was not that big. But ofcourse big enough.

If you want to see the best of Madeira, Horizon Retreat is a must!

Pros: We were warmly welcomed from start to finish of our stay. Alan was lovely and took his time telling us about the local area. We also enjoyed getting to know him better and sharing stories. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean and included all the amenities you could ask for e.g. extra pillows, blankets, towels etc. The property is extremely inclusive and the shared kitchen is equipped with all the gadgets you could need. However, we opted to dine out and sample the local restaurants, which were fantastic! The view is absolutely stunning and although we didn’t dip in the heated pool, it’s a wonderful bonus to a lovely stay!
