Hotel Porto Santo & Spa

Quietly enjoyable for a couple of nights in the low season.

Pros: They kindly gave us a free upgrade of our room (which was just on the upper floor and brighter decor but much appreciated!). The beach was wow! Comfy chairs on the terrace. Very welcoming and helpful staff.

Cons: As it was low season with few staying guests, it felt a bit flat but that's understandable and difficult for them to manage. A change of evening menu (e.g. daily specials perhaps?) could make eating in a bit more appealling.

Pros: Very good breakfast service in a spacious dining hall with a nice view to the garden. Direct access to the famous golden sand beach. Nice and well-kept garden. Comfortable beds. Not very far from the city.

Cons: The furniture in the room had some stains that didn't look inviting - more thorough cleaning, or if that does not remove them, a refurbishment would be due.

Pros: The beach bar was so lovely and good food too and not expensive. The staff were incredible friendly and all seemed happy The location was good and the breakfast excellent!

Cons: Initially we were given a room that overlooked the car park/door so was a bit noisy, but they were really good to change it for us which we really appreciate and our view had nice trees instead. The bedrooms could do with being modernised

Pros: It is always a pleasure to stay at this well-run, happy hotel. The staff are very helpful, the food is good, the swimming pool is large and very clean, and for us, it is the hotel's location beside the most gorgeous beach that makes this hotel a wonderful, relaxing stay. This was our 4th stay and we will be returning.

Cons: The bedrooms are a little small but the beds are comfortable and the well-equipped room and bathroom are very clean.
