São Lourenço Guest House

Pros: The house is located in the hillside, it has a phenomenal view. The owner gave instructions on everything, we enjoyed using the biliard table downstairs.

Cons: It was a little cold and we could not heat the room. There was no shampoo and shower gel, but I am not sure that it is included. The bed was a little bit uncomfortable.

Brilliant, would absolutely recommend

Pros: We had a brilliant stay in Caniçal, Madeira, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The room was absolutely amazing - spotless, comfortable, ocean view and perfectly set up for a relaxing trip Our host, truly made the stay unforgettable. He was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and we really enjoyed spending time with him. João is the absolute man - so generous with his time and knowledge of the island. He took us to Pico do Facho and Machico, shared loads of helpful tips and advice for getting around Madeira, and even made us poncha, which was a highlight in itself. The jacuzzi was fantastic. After being out all day exploring, coming back and relaxing in the jacuzzi was exactly what we needed…it was incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating. All around, this was a fantastic trip and a stay we’ll remember for a long time. We 100% recommend this place and would happily return. Thank you, João, for such an amazing experience!

Pros: Very relaxed comfortable guesthouse. Got to use the hot tub one of the evenings which was fabulous

Cons: Didn't get to use the pool or the sauna - closed due to the weather which was out of the owner's control.

Pros: I had the pleasure of staying at this guest house in Caniçal and it truly felt like a little paradise. Its location, slightly off the beaten path, guarantees peace and quiet, while the terrace offers breathtaking views of the sunrise – an unforgettable experience every morning. The apartments are modern, stylishly designed, and fully equipped. The jacuzzi and pool add an extra touch of relaxation and luxury, making the stay even more special. This is the perfect place for anyone looking for privacy, comfort, and a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature. I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to unwind and recharge.

Cons: Owners should make better navigation of their google maps adres , it’s 2 same places with this adres on google maps

Beautiful, quiet and cozy property, with a brilliant view and great facilities, 100% worth staying!

Pros: A brilliant property with excellent value for money. The view from the pool & jacuzzi area was fantastic, you could see the whole village/sea from there. Lovely friendly staff, very helpful and prompt replies for any questions or help needed regarding the area, restaurants, car rental etc. We'll hopefully get the opportunity to return soon, and until then, we're recommending this venue 100%!

No TP in the toilet but what a view!

Pros: Beautiful location, nice amenities (could cook and all), sauna, hot tub (have to be reserved 30min in advance) and pool on site that we used a lot. Beds were comfortable, bathroom spacious and clean. Joao was really nice and helpful.

Cons: It would have been nice to know in advance that you can’t throw toilet paper in the toilet - it was our first time on the island and apparently it’s common. Also parking situation is a bit sketchy (but I recommend renting a car though!) but we made it work :)

Pros: The accomodation was very comfortable, swimming pool, jaccuzi, sauna and billiard table in the ground floor was also very nice Also the check in & out procedure went well

Cons: Walking in the small town was next to the road, no sidewalks

Pros: Great place to stay for our last few days in Madeira. Clean, tidy, and comfortable. There is plenty of storage in the rooms. We loved having a kitchen inside the room. We used the hot tub a few times, which was a great way to relax after a day of hiking.

Perfect for setting out to hike Vereda da ponta de sao lorenço

Pros: Automated so check in was easy. The room was so clean. Great additional facilities (although we didn't use them) and close access to hiking. It's on a main road and parking is competitive. The room had very little natural light, we were in room number 7.
