Pros: Although there were on-going renovations, we still enjoyed our stay. We had a magnificent room overlooking Atlantic Oceans and its natural pools. The bed was comfortable and we loved the big pillows. We recommend to book with breakfast. It is worth it and perfect to fill the stomach before heading for a road trip.

Pros: Friendly staff, new rooms and the great views. Breakfast and the Beer House restaurant were good

Cons: The food in the Sea View restaurant was expensive for the quality. It also felt a bit shabby but it was a Winter's day and might feel different on a sunny day

2nd visit and will likely return

Pros: The views! We last stayed here in 2018 and it’s expanded since this time. They are still mid renovation but that didn’t affect us and our room was wonderful. They gave us a welcome bottle of wine which was a lovely thing to do as we enjoyed it on our balcony watching the waves

Cons: The two restaurants were both expensive compared with other local options.

Pros: The suite was just great. What a great suite! Top staff. Very good breakfast. The room sets the benchmark for all other Hotels on Madeira. Very nice view from the room balcony.

Excellent overall - I would definitely return.

Pros: Great view of the sea, free access to beautiful natural swimming pools, sauna and jacuzzi very welcome after a long days trekking, well designed bedroom, comfortable bed, soft pillows and warm blankets, really great shower and bath, very good breakfast, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, free parking. We were provided with a welcome drink on arrival and a picnic (on departure, as our flight was very early). Good location for access to fantastic walking trails and nearby villages. Easy to get to from the airport (about an hours drive on very good roads (and through tunnels).

Cons: Some minor points: the balcony in the Ocean Suite didn't get any sunshine as it faces North-East (and it was January). The view of the sea is somewhat restricted due to the depth of the walled balcony. The rooftop swimming pool was not heated (but the sauna and hot jacuzzi made up for this). There is no lounge area to hang out in the evening.
