The hotel Atrio is a small family run rural hotel located on the sunny south side of Madeira Island. Wonderfully placed at the edge of a pine forest, nature lovers and walkers find the perfect alternative to the hustle and bustle of Funchal city. A sizeable cultivated garden invites you to unwind and relax. The 22 rooms are individually decorated and offer a terrace or balcony with a wonderful view. Each rooms includes a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom with a bath or a shower. Extras include bath robes and a hairdryer. The price includes a rich and varied breakfast buffet. On arrival, a complimentary bottle of mineral water and fruits are provided. An extraordinary gem

Pros: We liked everything! Beautiful arrangement of the whole property, gardens, and bungalow. Very helpful hosts and friendly staff. Exceptionally good restaurant with excellent choice of dishes and reasonable prices. My dietary needs were very kindly cared for, and I had the luxury of enjoying different homemade gluten-free breads for breakfast, which were specifically and freshly baked for me. A wide range of guides about Madeira to borrow from the reception, plus help, and recommendations regarding everything we needed. Not to forget: a heavenly massage!

Pros: We really enjoyed our time at Atrio Hotel. The garden is peaceful and beautifully kept, and the ocean view from our room was a highlight. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and breakfast was fresh and tasty. We’d happily return.

Would book again, everything you want out of a holiday stay!

Pros: Beautiful location + view. Good breakfast with eggs to order. Comfortable matras. Through booking only last minute rooms (that's how we got lucky) would email them if you want to stay longer.

Cons: Only the shower was on the small side, but nothing problematic. Food in the restaurant was fine, not the best we have had in Madeira, but great to have in your hotel for that one night in.

As advertised - still smiling and very pleased.

Pros: Size matters - incredible nice location just a few steps uphill away from levada nova. Staff, accommodation were fantastic. We had only breakfast booked, all freshly baked /homemade. Local produce, focus on sustainability. Lovely garden
