Cons: - Dingy grey walls, dreary nylon curtains/bedspreads, faded pictures and white light bulbs in apartment, made rooms feel grim and unfriendly in the evening and when weather bad. (If you had good weather and were out in the evenings, this might not bother you so much) - In the evening, the restaurant felt closer to a factory canteen than a hotel, partly due to white overhead lighting and to puce tablecloths/chairs which clashed with the walls - Dinner main courses of variable quality - Condensation in apartment (possibly not a problem in summer) - Generally we thought some redecoration in relaxing co-ordinated colour schemes, plus warmer lighting, would cheer the atmosphere, but not cost so much that this friendly, stunningly located hotel ceased to be affordable

Pros: The staff were so helpful. The room was very spacious and the view from the balcony exquisite. The breakfast was varied and satisfying. The location is perfect and quiet yet makes a lot of the island easily accessible by car.

Cons: If I’m being picky parking was a little awkward at times but just meant a short walk and the shower mixer taps didn’t give a constant water temp but that’s being really picky

Cozy hotel next to the scenic PR19 trail

Pros: The hotel is located in a beautiful and peaceful area with stunning ocean views. A big plus is the proximity to the PR19 Caminho Real do Paul do Mar — a historic trail that winds down to the sea. Walking it gives you amazing panoramic views of the coastline and a sense of the old paths locals once used. A perfect opportunity to combine a comfortable stay with a bit of authentic Madeira hiking.

Cons: The lights in the sauna were suddenly turned off without any warning about closing time. It was dark and quite scary.

Pros: The views from this location are breathtaking. The staff is very kind and helpful. The facilities are fantastic, I loved dipping in the pool after a long day of hiking.

Cons: The room wasn't air-conditioned, and leaving the balcony door open to cool down brought in a lot of mosquitoes.

Super quiet 3.5 stars hotel

Pros: Breathtaking view & super quiet Close to PR19 Nicely equipped rooms 2 swimming pool Nice staff and services

Cons: It is more a 3 stars hotel than a 4 stars. This hotel is now beyond his golden age and should deserve a refurbishment there and there to keep up. The buffet (breakfast and a volonté) were not to the match of a 4 stars

Pros: We only stayed for one night, but our experience at Jardim Atlântico was absolutely perfect. We were lucky enough to get what must be the best room in the hotel — it was simply incredible. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was so peaceful. Highly recommended!

Awesome ocean views and quiet place to rest!

Pros: I really liked the views from our room, quietness, endless ocean. Wifi was available in the room as well. Great breakfast and nice warm swimming pool.

Cons: No beach nearby, obviously because the hotel is on the mountain.
