Pros: Great location, close to Funchal old town at a few mins walking distance. Great hosts with very prompt and friendly communications. Overall a good stay experience

Pros: The accommodation was clean, equipped with everything you need, great location, very helpful and welcoming host. I recommend it.

Cons: Very poor sound insulation. You could hear both your neighbors and everything going on in the stairwell very well. It was very disturbing at night.

A great apartment and an even greater host

Pros: Hugo was an absolutely amazing host. He gave us a detailed introduction to Funchal and even provided us with a selfmade map of Madeira that included all of his tipps and recommendations. He was super helpful throughout our stay and kept informing us about cool event around the islands throughout our stay. We loved staying at the apartment. Modern, clean and in a perfect location for us… we could do everything by foot.

A comfortable and modern apartment ran by an extraordinary host.

Pros: Hugo is one of the best hosts we have ever encountered. He gave us a very detailed introduction to Funchal providing maps (created by himself!), leaflets and other touristy documents. During the trip, he was readily attentive and helped us with any questions or requests. We are so grateful that Hugo was able to get groceries on our behalf as we were arriving at an awkward time. The apartment was very clean, fitted with efficient and modern appliances, and in a fantastic location where everything was accessible by foot. Netflix and Youtube were available on the TV. The shared terrace was clean and spacious - perfect for anytime of the day to relax!

Cons: Soundproofing could be improved as noise from other guests travelled easily from the corridor.

Perfect stay , lovely host Hugo .

Pros: This property is perfectly placed and reasonably priced especially for new year time, the decor is modern and the apartment is well equipped with everything you need for a short stay , close walk to all the main shops and restaurants , the cable car and port (10-15 mins) . We stayed over new year and it was a short walk to Christmas market also . All communication with Hugo the owner was pleasant and he gives some amazing and well accepted advice for a trips around Madeira including walks and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Funchal .

Cons: The balcony we seen in the listing was large with sun loungers and better views , however the apartment we had the balcony was small with limited views . However this was not a major issue as we spent most of our time out walking and sight seeing .

Pros: Very friendly and helpful host! He was always available for questions or suggestions. The room was very clean en there was enough space for everything. The kitchen is very handy! There was free parking in the street, which was handy when you rent a car!

Great apartment close to the centre of Funchal

Pros: We loved our stay at Apartamentos Progresso and would definitely stay there again. The location is great, walking distance from the center of Funchal and just round the corner from charming local cafés serving great coffee. The shower was fantastic. The apartment offered everything we needed. Also, the hallway smells like lavender, that was extremely nice every time we entered the building.

Cons: The wifi did not work during our stay and it did not get fixed. There are gaps between the apartment’s front door and its doorframe, so not much sound isolation. But these were just minor points.

Excellent Apartment Choice in Funchal.

Pros: Everything- Hugo was incredibly kind and informative about the island- where to eat, buses to take, and so on. Always easy to reach if we needed anything. Location was ideal- minutes walk to buses, old town and historic center of Funchal. Comfortable room with all that you need and nice outside seating. Quiet at night and good quality bed. Can’t recommend enough and can’t wait to come back!

Cons: All was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for anything else.

Great accommodation

Pros: Very comfortable apartments. Great value for money. New, equipped with everything you need. Just a few minutes walk from the old center of town. Hugo, the owner, is very kind and thoughtful, he provided me upon arrival and during my stay with lots of fun and useful tips and was always there to help. He is very responsive and if there is any problem, he solves it right away. I had a great time here, extended my stay and will definitely come back in the future when visiting Madeira.
