Centrally located apartment in Funchal, recommended.
Pros: The apartment was great, fully furnished and had everything we need. The location was very central, near the old town of Funchal so easy walking routes to the port and central areas. Our host Jose was very helpful. He met us as we checked in and offered to pick us up from the port after our ferry from Porto Santo arrived late. He also let us store our luggage in the apartment on check-out day, as we had a few hours to spare before our flight. He also helped us arrange an airport transfer which was really appreaciated. We would highly recommend a stay here.
Cons: There wasn't any air conditioning in the apartment so this did make it very warm at night, however standing fans were provided in the main rooms which helped with this.

Our stay was perfect!
Pros: The property was lovely, very clean, and had everything needed for a week's stay, including all kitchen crockery. It was a large apartment for the 2 of us. The host was also great, and we had a very easy check-in!
Cons: There was nothing we did not like; it was great.

A Superb Apartment in Beautiful Maderia!
Pros: Superb top floor apartment. Clean and tidy with everything you need in one place. Very spacious with a comfy bed and an excellent shower. A great base to visit the beautiful island of Madeira. Also the added bonus, is the separate upstairs terrace area, which is great for relaxing with a beer or glass of wine. Fantastic stay. Obrigado José! 🙏

Great flat in great location, nice, clean and well equipped.
Pros: Great location with historic center, shops and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. There is no carpark, but there's a great multistorey on the other side of the street (4.5Euro per 24h).
Cons: As I written before, its in the center, next to the main road, so it gets noisy from the street. The terrace is shared and is on the roof above, but it is south exposure and even has its own loungers and outdoor shower (we haven't tested it though)

Great host & location
Pros: -Hugo was lovely and gave us a lot of tips for the island -comfortable bed -kitchen had all the necessities for a quick homemade breakfast -good location, near the city center - it was not too difficult to find parking nearby, there is a payed one on the other side of the road
Cons: - WiFi was weak or unreliable at times, I wouldn’t recommend for remote working (Hugo tried to help and sent someone over to fix it but it didn’t help much finally) - noisy street in the night

Pros: Great host. Solved all our problems (and problem we caused) with smile, so we can't give anything other than 10 as it was clean and big apartment with everything you need for stay unless you are very fussy. Good location for visiting Funchal and Madeira by bus but it is still city location. Nice roof terrace. It wasn't actually cheap for us, but also cheapest offer we found during reservation so I can't complain. No parking but you can park your car in underground garage on the other side of street for 3 EUR per 24/h so it is not a big deal. Owner gave us details for great and reliable taxi driver.

Pros: Hugo was an excellent host, very accommodating, welcoming and helpful. The apartment was in the ideal location for all attractions, restaurants, shops and bus stops. It was clean and had everything we needed. The balcony was an extra bonus with gorgeous views. I would stay here again or highly recommend it.
Cons: Some essentials such as tea/coffee/sugar would have been a nice addition

Great location, but the musty odour needs to be addressed
Pros: The apartment was convenient, well equipped and in a great location. The host is very nice and quick to response.
Cons: However, there were significant issues with dampness. We stayed in the apartment during a few days with heavier rainfall, and the water leaked inside through the ceiling. The corners of the ceiling had visible mold. The high humidity also made the apartment feel very cold. The host did come by to check the ceiling but there wasn’t much he was able to do. A more long-term problem arose after our trip: we have had to perform multiple vinegar washes on our clothes just to get the smell of mold out. Many of them we will just need to throw away, as the smell just sticks…
