Pros: We really enjoyed the location right by the beach, as well as the pool on the property. There were several dining options nearby, and the apartment itself was spacious and comfortable. We also had an absolutely amazing view of the ocean, with beautiful sunsets almost every evening! My father even said it was the best balcony he had ever had on a holiday – and he has traveled extensively all around the world.

Cons: What we did not appreciate as much was the parking situation – it was very difficult to find a space each day. The large open parking lot seemed to be used by all the beach visitors as well. We also felt that we did not receive enough information about the facilities; for example, we had to specifically ask for the key to the safe, and also for the key that allowed us to access the property from the beach. That said, we checked in quite late, closer to 7–7:30 pm, and the staff had probably already left for the day (we believe their office hours end around 5 pm). This might explain why not all information was provided at check-in. Parking would still have been much better if access had been restricted with a barrier, so that only residents and guests of the complex could use it. We also missed having a convenient way to get groceries. Fortunately, we had a rental car and could drive to the shops, but once we returned from excursions and had finally managed to secure a parking spot, we preferred not to move the car again. A safer walking route to the shops would have been very helpful, instead of having to walk along a dangerous road with cars passing at high speed. Perhaps such a path exists, but we were not given any information about it.

Great spacious apartments with the great balcony overlooking the ocean!

Pros: Great apartment and super spacious. Had everything I needed. Balcony was just amazing and so close to the ocean with great views. It was definitely the most relaxed experience I’ve had booking an apartment. Communication was great and I was given all the information I needed. Checking in/out couldn’t have be easier. Staff very friendly too.

Cons: The only thing about the property was getting home at night. There’s no straight route so you would need to get a taxi home but that’s not a big deal really, I just like walking everywhere. There is a walk way down from the main road but it’s very dark and not ideal at night for a solo traveler. The drive in to the property is a bit run down which doesn’t give the best vibe but the property itself is very safe.

Fabulous sea views, good value for money

Pros: Exceptional sea views and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach at night was incredible. Comfortable clean beds. Little kitchen with fridge, freezer shelf, electric hobs, kettle, toaster, microwave (no oven). Clothes airer & pegs. We slept brilliantly. Great communication from the Hotel via the Booking.com App. The pool was lovely, we often had it to ourselves. Some great restaurants and coves within a 10 minute flat walk. Taxi to Funchal was about €15. The apartment was quiet even though we had a beach bar outside (we were room 416). Lovely little library downstairs to borrow books from.

Cons: The apartment is fairly basic (no iron/board, thin/worn towels) and the building is tired and dated. It isn’t cleaned during your stay. The nearest supermarket was a very steep 10 minutes climb away. Only once did we see Reception manned in the week we were there. Washing machine needs a clean inside rim. Cleaning products were very limited (bottle of shower gel, bottle of dishwashing liquid, 2 laundry tablets, 1 bin bag). No kitchen spray. Luckily we brought teabags with us for the first day! The pool bar wasn’t open during our stay (end of May).

Wonderful stay in perfectly located shore-front apartment

Pros: The most beautiful views, going to sleep to the sound of Atlantic waves crashing on the shores just below, well equipped, comfortable and spacious.

Cons: Couldn’t get the coffee machine to work!

Perfect for a large group

Pros: Really big spacious apartment right on the seafront with everything that is needed. Staff were accommodating with requests and quick response time.

Pros: Clean, very spacious, steps away from Praia Formosa, close to the shopping mall and convenience stores, good sized swimming pool, good value for money

Pros: Extra beds, spacious rooms, beautifull view from balcony with sunset, restaurants nearby.

Cons: The apartment is quite simple. For those who are used to luxury, this won’t do. But the view is amazing!

Great location and amazing views!

Pros: Fantastic apartment - very clean, the view is amazing, and the location is great! It is a long walk into town, but there is lots to do right outside of the hotel (beach bars, tidal pools, black sand beach, etc.).
