Casa da Ribeira

Pros: The balcony view of the sea is fantastic, and the location is perfect. The bed was comfortable and the shower and kitchen are small but everything works as expected.

Cons: There are some stairs up to this apartment which is one of four in the same block, I didn't hear any noise from guests in other apartments, except when the cleaners were doing a changeover next door at midday.

Pros: Near the old center. Everything you need around the corner, and Senhora Catarina is a wonderful host.

Pros: Great location within walking distance to many shops and restaurants in the beautiful city with the marina in view from the balcony. The apartment was lovely and clean with good-sized beds. Bus stops all close by. The main market is about 5 minutes walk away which was a great experience.

Cons: There is no air conditioning, just a fan, which did make it difficult to sleep in the warm nights given the noise.

Great location, comfortable room

Pros: Great location within a short walk of cafes, restaurants, shops.

Cons: Very noisy room, from busy road outside to the idiots who were jumping around upstairs and putting on washing machine at 11pm right outside the door. No aircon

Pros: It was a pleasure staying in this apartment! Everything was fantastic, and the host was very helpful 👍 I truly enjoyed my time here and will definitely stay again the next time I’m in Funchal.

Pros: Nice place, close to the center of Funchal. It was clean, shower was good, beds were made. Clean towels. There is wifi. There is a small equiped kitchen. Totally ok for 2-3 people.

Cons: It could be noisy at night. No airco, but fans. Doable but in intense hear it would be hot.

Pros: The room was very near the city centre and different bus stations. It was clean and comfortable, well-equipped with a fridge, toaster, kettle, and a hair dryer. There was also a washing machine and an iron in the hall.

Pros: Location is great. The place is clean. Nearby is parking where you have luck and find a spot you can keep your car for 15 min to leave your bags. To park the car without struggle, you should park in the Almirante Reis Car Park. Costs 15e a day. In the apartment, there is a toaster, fridge and kettle. So maybe you can have breakfast there. We didn't try. You can do the laundry and iron your things if you have to. We've spent 5 days there. It was okay.

Cons: There is a huge need for shelves in the bathroom. We had to keep our stuff on the floor. Maybe this chair, where at first were kept our towels were meant to be a shelf. But with really low cost, you can find a better solution :) The place doesn't have a/c. It was not a problem at the time we visited (May). But I can believe that when the temperature gets higher, it can be a problem. There was a fan. But it's not the same.

Great location spacious apartment in Funchal

Pros: The location was great, couldn't be beaten, near old town and new town and bus stops, the staff was very friendly and responsive, the place was a good size with twin beds in each room.

Cons: Would have been nice to have mid week clean offered but new towels kindly provided when requested.

Pros: the apartment is in the city center, it has everything you need for a short stay.
