Lovely stay in Funchal

Pros: The property is in a great location , it’s quite central to everything in Funchal. The staff were also great and quick to respond when we requested items.

Cons: Lots of lots of stairs to get to the apartment on the top floor

Would definitely use again if we could get lower floor apartment.

Pros: The location was excellent, and the two issues we did have were attended to by the Homie team.

Cons: Only downside was having to deal with a third floor apartment. Heavy luggage up stairs wasn’t pleasant.

Brilliant apartment accommodation in Funchal

Pros: This is a beautiful apartment in the centre of Funchal It's perfectly furnished and perfect as a base to see Funchal and the Island The location is close to the main shopping areas and there's an excellent supermarket/bakery less than 100m away.

Cons: I've zero complaints...the location and price were just unbeatable as well as the support/advice from the hosts.

Great apartment

Pros: Very nice apartment, great location and very clean

Cons: Could do with a more comfortable sofa and a mattress topper for the bed. Better pillows as well.

A comfortable, well-equipped apartment in a convenient location.

Pros: The apartment had all the amenities I needed, and everything was very clean, especially the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen. The location was excellent, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. I also really appreciated being able to connect to Netflix and watch my shows during downtime.

Cons: There was no reception or staff to greet us on arrival, which felt a bit impersonal. The property also doesn’t offer luggage storage, which was inconvenient as we arrived several hours before check-in. The apartment is on the third floor with no lift, which could be difficult for guests with mobility issues. During our 5-night stay, the room was not cleaned or refreshed, which I would have expected.

Great apartment in great location!

Pros: Great apartment (3A) in brilliant location within Funchal old town. Felt safe staying in the apartment as a solo guest.. Apartment was spacious, clean and there were even a few welcome treats of mini biscuits, bananas and Madeira wine on the table on arrival! Good communication with Madeira Sun Travel prior to visit and on arrival (Check-in is contactless and access to the apartment is via a coded door and key box for the apartment door - I was unaware of this until my arrival day but was very easy once I had the details). Great WiFi. Apartment is on 3rd floor with only stairs so pack light!

Cons: Location of apartment 3A backs onto main road which was very noisy and windows weren’t very soundproof. Intermittent unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Towels were very rough but softened after a couple of uses. Prior to visit, fraudulent messages were sent from the property’s account name- this was unnerving and it took a long time for someone to get back to me to confirm my booking was still safe.

Centrally located with everything you need for a short stay.

Pros: Great location and well equipped. Communication also went smoothly.

Cons: The apartment is great, but one or two more hooks in the bathroom for towels and (wet) clothes would be helpful. We had quite a few days of rain on the island and we didn’t have enough space to hang out wet clothes.

Great location

Pros: Lovely flat in great location in the old town. But we hadn’t realised it was on the top floor. Great views but no lift and 50 steps to get to the third floor. A few years ago it would not have been a problem but now that we’re older and my husband has mobility problems the stairs were a bit of a challenge.

Pros: Really nice location, spacious, clean, lots of kitchen equipment.

Cons: Right next to a busy road, didn’t bother us, but just in case you’re a light sleeper. It was difficult to shower without flooding the bathroom.

A great place to stay in Madeira

Pros: Great apartment, very well situated in Funchal - everywhere was within easy walking distance. Apartment was spacious and comfortable for two, shower was warm and powerful. Good communication with host. A great base for a few days (or longer) in Madeira.
