Cantinho da Maria

Pros: Maria was very kind and extremly helpful, she agresja on checkin well after the usual hours. The place is not your regular lifeless stay, it feels like home.

Homely and full of character!

Pros: The bed was very comfy! Maria was very welcoming and her space clean and full of character. Very homely and relaxing. We had access to the kitchen, where she has an oven and microwave, and was very generous with sharing cakes and local fruits with the guests, alongside tea and coffee. We were able to store food in the fridge easily, and come and go as we pleased. The area is close to a large supermarket and has free parking in the area if you can snatch a space!

Cons: The shower was a bit intermittent with the hot water - however, this might be a general theme within Madeira, and just not something I'm accustomed to experiencing within the UK. There also is some building work going on around the area, but wasn't any different from the usual city noise.

Pros: Really nice owner. Late check-in wasn't problem. Clean and nice accomodation. Equipped kitchen available. Good location.

Excellent price-quality ratio

Pros: The host was super sweat and provided a lot on insightful information. You can tell she has a lot of pride in her culture, which is just delightful. We only stayed one night but it was the best sleep I had in a long time!

Pros: Lovely owner, I had a late flight (which was also delayed) and didn't reach the property until 1am, she was totally accommodating.

Pros: Very good access by car from the airport, next to bus stop, many parking spots available.. The owner is very helpful and welcoming.

Good value for your money

Pros: The place was clean and the owner was kind. You can tell she puts a lot of effort in the place. The location is good as well, there is the bus stop. Also a private parking on the inside of the area.

Cons: Was a bit tricky to find the right building as Google map made me go all the way around. Didn't like that the key of the private room is the same for each room

I will like to use the property again

Pros: The place is neat, staff are friendly and nice, quiet environment. It was as if I'm in my house. Good facilities.

Cons: The TV is difficult to operate.

Pros: The lady is very nice and friendly I felt like home .. easy to get to city center by public busses.. I would recommend the house for one person couples too 👍👍

Pros: Amazing owner of the place. The hostess gave us important feedback of sightseeing the island. Great location as starting point for sightseeing all of the island. Close to the beach and to the centre of Funchal. Next to shops and coffee shops, pastelaria ect. Fully equipped kitchen. Comfy bed. View of the ocean from bedroom .
