Fantastic place - would definitely stay again!

Pros: A lovely, really friendly guest house. Like staying with family. Great communication. Nothing too much trouble. And the breakfast was amazing.

Cons: A small problem with the shower, but is being fixed. Everything else perfect.

Highly recommend, well located and charming house.

Pros: Sara and Patricio are exceptionally friendly, forthcoming and kind managers whose presence significantly impacted the positive experience of staying here. The house itself was beautiful, charming and with a stunning view. The location was also excellent: within a charming area of the city, and with everything in walking distance. The room was clean and well taken care of and, since it was the “tower” room, I enjoyed a view both towards the mountains as well as towards the sea, with lovely sunsets.

Pros: Great location close to cable car/old town so loads of opportunities to eat out and explore. House retained original features where practicable with each room being very individual as reflected in the price. Guest house team of Patrick, Sara and Monica all spoke excellent English and resolved any issues promptly. Plus nice to speak with as I’m a solo traveler

Cons: Church bell hourly from 8am as it’s next door so no chance to sleep in but others have already mentioned that reality

Amazing central ocean accomodation in Funchal

Pros: The location is great. You get out of the house and you have the ocean in front of you. Also there is a short walk until the city center. The bar near, you NEED to go. The breakfast was amazing, BUT the people working there make this accommodation so magical. I felt like home. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help you with anything. The garden is very pretty. I had the room with shared bathroom. You are sharing with a triple bedroom( so other 3 more people), but we never crossed paths. It was clean. I recommend this 10000% if you choose to stay in Funchal!!!

Pros: Vitorina guesthouse is a place full of local character, situated on the edge of the historical centre of Funchal and right next to a café with a terrace and a view on the sea. Sara, Patricio and Monica were all three personally invested in the quality of my stay. This was very unlike any soulless hotel, and gave me a flavour of the local lifestyle and what it felt like living there.

Absolutely fabulous.

Pros: The staff were wonderful. We met and had breakfast with the owners who were delightful and told us the history of the property. Sara and Patricio were probably the best hosts we have ever come across. The property was full of history and interest. Great location in Funchal, but away from the chaos of it. Highly recommended.
