Cantinho Rural

Pros: Property is in a lovely quiet location. Ideal if you want to just relax. Or if you want a base to travel the island.

Cons: Property is in a bit of a bowl. So if you are in one of the lower properties. You don't get the sun till later in the morning and you lose the sun fairly early in the evening. The private terrace isn't very private.

Pros: The house itself is fabulous, it has everything that you need, including towels and toiletres. We had to speak with Pablo as there was an issue with the air con and engineers were out that day to resolve it. The four properties are located about 20 mins outside of Funchal but you feel like you're in another world- it's so peaceful. The grounds are so well maintained, they are a joy to wake up to each morning! Another super bonus is that theres a lovely levada trail right next to the house. We absolutely loved our trip to Madeira and part of the reason was the stay at Cabtinho Rural.

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: The location is absolutely fabulous, intimate, surrounded by a wonderful view. The gardens are very well maintained and fragrant. The house is very well equipped and clean. Next to our house, there was a large yard where 4–5 goats were grazing along with their kids. Absolutely delightful.

Cons: The only minor issue would be the water pressure in the shower – it’s very low.

Pros: Incredible and peaceful location. Absolute beauty. Communication with the staff via WhatsApp, nothing was a problem. The accommodation is beautiful and clean. I hope I’ll have the opportunity to return here again sometime.

Cons: It flew by really fast 😂😂😂. This accommodation has no negatives.

Pros: Beautiful rural surroundings. Well equipped and comfortable house.

We had an amazing peaceful, relaxing and surrounded by nature stay at Cantinho Rural.

Pros: The location is in a very secluded area, surrounded by forest, extremely peaceful and quiet. All facilities are available, including washing machine and tumble dryer in a shared space. Host is very responsive, providing support and solution to any issue. House offers a lot of space, rooms are big and beds are very comfortable.

Cons: Sometimes the internet was very slow so we faced issues accessing different websites and online guides to plan the next day activities.

Pros: Lovley place in the mountains. We will come back here. I love the fireplace ! Everything was perfect.

Calm home base to explore Madeira

Pros: Perfect communication, gorgeous area, great houses, lovely staff. 👌🏻

Spacious, beautiful, functional cottage in outstanding surroundings

Pros: Location excellent, looking out over a small valley with the sea far away in the background. Isolation ideal to get away from everything. Only sounds audible were birds & sheep. Hardly aware that the other cottages were occupied. Peace & tranquillity in abundance!!! Loved the fire place, which got regularly used for cosy evenings. Chopped wood was provided.

Cons: Nothing, it was the perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of daily life.

Pros: It was the most enjoyable and peaceful holiday we had. The birds would wake us up and the day started well that way. We had no car which was not a real problem as we took the local buses into Funchal and other places we wanted to go but if you do have a car it would even be easier. At the bottom of the lane was a great restaurant Katespero and they serve wonderful food and on days we couldn't face the walk back the owners gave us a lift home, so kind.

Cons: The toilet seat 😂😉
