Fab location, needs redecoration.

Pros: Manageress, reception staff & breakfast staff all went out of their way to ensure a great experience. The hotel is perfectly located in a quiet street right in the centre of Funchal, with supermarket, shopping centre, restaurants, cafes, Blandy's Madeira wine centre, banks, post office etc.. all within a 5 minute walk. Breakfast was adequate & everything appeared fresh & clean.

Cons: The room could benefit from decoration, many furniture items had scratches & marking. I had a double room ( as a single traveller) yet there was inadequate storage & hanging space. My room had a musty aroma throughout the duration of my stay, coupled with a pungent smell from 'mastic' being used by builders in an adjacent room. The elevator broke down during my stay but this was fixed within 24 hrs.

Gorgeous location with rooftop terrace and ample space

Pros: Location is amazing. Very nice staff. Beds comfy. Good amount of space. Roof terrace is excellent and beautiful views.

Cons: The breakfast was fine, there was a selection of food but the quality wasn’t great. Bathroom light broken.

Absolutely delighted we'll be back.

Pros: The hotel is great we were able to arrange a transfer from the airport through them and were met by a lovely driver who had our room key and welcome letter ( we arrived at 1am and reception is not open 24 hours) seamless start to a great visit. Location is great. Hotel is quiet, staff are friendly and the prices in their Terrace Bar are very reasonable 👌 Like that they had a free library where you could borrow a book

Would recommend this hotel. Had a lovely stay and would return to the hotel.

Pros: Hotel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and attentive. Room was clean and comfortable.

Cons: My only tiny issue was the call button for the main lift on the second floor didn’t work, but there is a second lift which worked perfectly fine.
