Quinta Das Faias

Pros: We were warmly welcomed by Filipe who owns the property and he gave us a lot of tips for the direct surroundings. The garden is beautiful and serene, with birds and flowers. You have a lot of privacy around the cottage. At night it's very quiet, great for light sleepers :) The cottage itself is authentic, with cosy furniture and the kitchen is super well equipped, anything you could think of is there. We had a very relaxed stay and from Camacha we could also easily drive to starting points of hikes we wanted to do.

A lovely place for escaping to the winter sun

Pros: We stayed for 12 lovely days. The cottage was perfect - every bit as lovely as in the photos. The beautiful gardens were a delight to be in. The location was peaceful - very easy to sleep! Yes, you pretty much need a car to stay here, but that was always in my plan. 20 mins from the airport, 20 mins from Funchal. From the little we experienced of Funchal and a few other coastal locations, we were pleased that we had our own oasis of peace and quiet to return to each day. The local supermarket is great, and has all you need. 5 mins easy walk away, or a quick drive. The bakery across the road was another hit. When returning to Funchal, we'd stay here again without hesitation.

Cons: Had no internet a couple of times, but this was as a result of recent weather issues.

Lovely rustic house in greenery

Pros: Cute little fairy-tale house in middle of amazing old garden. There is everything you need for relaxing and peaceful holidays. The owner Felipe gave us really good advices about restaurants, parking in Funchal etc. Supermarket is very close. Oh, and we had even beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers in our room when we arrived. It was really lovely.

Fairytale house

Pros: Everything was perfect, we really enjoyed stay in Quinta das Faias. We were there with our two-year-old son and he loved there too. Garden is large and beautiful, with meny flowers, huge trees and free-roaming chickens. Owner Filipe was very kind, hospitable and helpful. House was clean and very well eqipped. We really appreciated fire place during rainy days. Otherwise I have problems with sleeping but there I had very good sleep during all our stay, which is incredible. I hope we'll come back here again.

Wonderful, peaceful and relaxing

Pros: Fabulous location and outstanding welcome from Filipe. This is a beautiful oasis of calm with a stupendous view. The welcome from Filipe included fresh homemade bread and marmalade and great recommendations on where to visit and to eat. The garden is very relaxing and adds to the sense of calm.

Pros: Lovely quiet,, well equipped and clean traditional style cottage in a large garden. The owner was very friendly and responsive. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent and the bed, towels and logs for the fire were renewed regularly. The location is convenient for mountains, coast, airport and Funchal. Supermarket within walking distance.

Nice, quiet place to stay

Pros: We loved the garden and chickens walking around. All was good, the staff was helpful. The view was nice too. The rabbit came to visit us once in the evening. The shop is very close.

Pros: We had a great stay in Quinta das Faias. The house is very cosy and cute, surrounded by a beautiful garden with flowers and tropical fruit trees. It is also very comfortable with well-equipped kitchen and a fireplace that we could use. The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful.
