Quinta das Malvas - Quinta de Santa Luzia

Pros: Margarida was the perfect host She welcomed us and showed us all of the amenities at Quinta das Malvas.What a great time we had.

Pros: Away from Funchal town noise and bustle. Staff were excellent, providing a great selection for breakfast. Large room with super king bed. Parking on site.

Cons: The walk back up from Funchal town.

Relaxing friendly host and property with amazing views, lovely garden good food and huge room.

Pros: Huge rooms, lovely breakfast and a superb host in Margarida who went out of her way in communication friendliness and knowledge. Lovely views and an amazing garden and historical property which we loved. Margarida checked we were safely in and provided us with a wealth of local knowledge and places of interest even giving us a tour of the gardens and vineyard.

Pros: Beautiful, charming old mansion with a huge bed and a very nice garden.

Pros: Beautiful and quiet location. Mrs. Magarida was very attentive throughout our stay, she also gave us tips for walks with superb views.

Cons: The floors were wooden, so they creaked a bit, and if you wanted to leave early in the morning you had to be careful how you walked so as not to make noise, but it's nothing to worry about.

A different and enjoyable stay..

Pros: We enjoyed staying in something that was very different from a hotel, with plenty of individuality. A quinta is a distinctive feature of Funchal and we valued sampling one. The garden is delightful and peaceful with plenty of interesting trees and plants and a good view of the city. There are two comfortable lounges. It is possible to make tea in the kitchen, which has a fridge and microwave. The staff were very friendly. It is some way from the centre. The 26 bus stops very near; the 19 and 22 further away. The house is down a hill from the entrance. The breakfast is fine but more limited than in a hotel.

Cons: The bed in the room we stayed in was accessible only from one side.

Super finish of our Madeira journey.

Pros: Very tasteful interior and lucious spacious rooms on a stunning urban farm. Stayed here with the family on our last two nights of our Madeira journey. Would definitely recommend this place!

Cons: To steep of a journey to walk from city to accommodation but taxi's are plentifull

Pros: Clean, nice room. Very spacious bathroom. Very nice terrace and yard.

Cons: Very simple breakfast, no warm food (just cold hard boiled eggs, bread, cheese, ham and cereal)
