Jaca Hostel Funchal

Amazing place with amazing people & vibe! Would stay again and again!💫

Pros: I absolutely loved everything about my 5-night stay at Jaca Hostel! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the location and interior design of the hostel are fantastic. I also really enjoyed the great atmosphere and the fellow travelers I met there. Jaca Café on the ground floor is a big bonus — especially the delicious breakfasts! I don’t usually stay in hostels these days, but as a solo traveler in Madeira, I wanted to meet people and connect with fellow hiking and travel enthusiasts. My stay at Jaca Hostel truly exceeded my expectations. The owner is a very kind and helpful lady — she recommended a wonderful Portuguese restaurant where I had an amazing Espada com Banana, a local seafood specialty. Keep up the great work! 😊

Cons: No negative feedback this time – I truly enjoyed everything about my stay at Jaca! I would happily stay there again and would definitely recommend it to friends visiting Funchal or their second location in Ponta da Cruz😊

Pros: Everyone at this place make sure to make you feel like home.

Pros: Not so far from the city centre. There are shops, restaurants and supermarket close to the accomodation. The room was very clean, the bed and 2 pillows were very comfortable. TV was new and with many programs. The check in was digital, opening the room as well using app, however it was easy and user friendly and I liked it! The employees are very friendy and supportive.

Cons: The sound isolation is very poor, and I could hear people passing in the coridor, and working in the kitchen.

Wonderful stay in a very friendly atmosphere

Pros: Wonderful stay! Jaca Team did a great job:) I recommend drinking a poncha or fresh juice in the backyard!

Cosy and peaceful hostel

Pros: The location was excellent. Right in the center. The single room was very nice, with a small and peaceful balcony.

Cons: The shower head was quite old and didn’t work properly. It would be good to have it changed.

Pros: Location was amazing!!! I cant even tell! I was so happy. The room was small of course but I knew it beforehand. The check-in was super easy and working good. A/C was also working good. JaCafe is also open after 8, which means that I had my breakfast before my trips everyday. They were so nice people! Thanks

Great stay overall.

Pros: Very modern, bright and welcoming! The staff were also lovely and very attentive. I had a wonderful stay.

Cons: The cafe area is nice but I wish there were more of a common area to meet other travellers and socialise in the evening.

Pros: Really great hostel with lovely staff. Location is excellent - really close to the city center. And they have a nice café downstairs. Would definitely come back!

Cons: The only thing that's missing is a living room where people can hang out in the evening and chat.

Nice place well located within Funchal

Pros: The place is clean and comfortable in a really good location!

Cons: There is not really a common space to sit our meet people, otherwise the cafe down stairs!

Pros: Everything was amazing, really good emplacement in Funchal and the staff is incredible. I would return any time.
