The Waves Hostel by Amazing Madeira

Pros: I stayed here previously 2 years ago and the hostel is just as welcoming as I remember. Great location for hikes, parking, extremely clean, and reliable WiFi.

Cons: Not a con of the hostel but I would definitely recommend renting a car if staying at this property.

Pros: I went for hiking over Christmas time and it was great as you're in the middle of the north of the Island and only 40 minutes to the South, East or West. Amazing host, Cilo invited us to come up on Christmas evening for something to drink and cake, lovely family. You get your own room, you can still hear everyone but it's a hostel and a clean one with room to chat to people in the lounge or kitchen, and kitchen is well equipped apart from the oven doesn't work the best. Sleeping next to the waves crashing is lovely and calming. I'd definitely go back!!!

Cons: Sun didn't hit the place often but you're in the north and only 15 minutes drink to somewhere the sun hit so 🤷🏻

Pros: Private rooms with all what needs a traveler and very nice kitchen too. Close to north surf spots, central location. Nice restaurants close by to eat espetada. Célio the owner is super friendly.

Pros: The owner is helpfull, and will tell you everything about shops, restaurants, and bus traffic. Hostel itself is located in beautiful area, and the views are amazing. Hostel is clean, and you get to meat great people, from all around the world. Sao Vicente itself is very popular for surfing.

I will definitely stay there again, if I visit Madeira. Best hostel experience I've had so far!

Pros: This place is so amazing! Even though it's on the other side of the island, so more away from all the touristy places, I loved this place. The host was amazing, welcoming me very late in the evening. I had my own room and the view from the terrace was stunning (ocean, vawes, nature). I liked how calm and quiet it was there, and because I had a car, it was no problem to travel all around the island from the hostel. It wad clean, and interior was really cool too!

Simply Wonderful! If I ever go back to Madeira, I will not hesitate to book at this hostel.

Pros: Everything! The hostel is a real gem! The view from the outdoor balcony is breath taking. Celio is one of the best person I ever met. He's such a good host. Very kind and caring, and open minded.

A peaceful gem where i felt safe and at home

Pros: This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I must admit I was a bit nervous at first – especially because the rooms weren’t locked with keys. But from the moment I arrived, I felt completely safe and at home. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything. The place was spotlessy clean – truly one of the cleanest accommodations I’ve ever stayed in. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, far from the noise and chaos of the world. It’s the most beautiful pleace i have ever stay – peaceful, cozy, and surrounded by stunning nature. And the view… just wow! Watching the sunrise and sunset from the terrace was magical – a moment I’ll never forget. I truly recommend this place with all my heart. It’s not just a hostel – it’s an experiencei.

Pros: All was perfect. The host and location. It's a big house shared for 6 person. Everyone has own room , shared common areas only. But it's huge , with stunning terrace so you can enjoy unforgettable sunsets of Madeira. You have even BBQ . And privat park place

Cons: Maybe to change the leaning for the bed and towels one time in 3-4 days would be perfect!
