Great vibes, lovely location

Pros: The centre of town, very nice vibe and the staff were lovely

Cons: They quoted a taxi from the airport to €45 when we got a bolt for €30. They didn’t give any notice of warning for the towns 3-6 am fireworks around Christmas which go off meters away from you.

Great stay, delicious breakfast, wonderful team, and a truly beautiful island.

Pros: Breakfast was great and the service was amazing. We loved every aspect of our stay. The location is the best in town — right next to cafés, bars, and restaurants. Visit in December when the island is Christmas-themed! The light decorations are next level and absolutely stunning. The hotel team was superb. Our room was beautiful and clean, and we had the most comfortable bed. We were sad to leave this place much too early.

Cons: Our stay was great overall. The only issue was the fountain in the patio — it started making strange noises early in the morning, which kept us awake. Even with the windows closed, we couldn’t sleep after that.

My favourite hotel in the Funchal area

Pros: I just love this hotel! Friendly staff, fantastic breakfast with lots of healthy options, great location next to the bay, nice rooms and common areas.

Cons: The area around the hotel is very lively so you may want to bring earplugs to sleep.

Love love this place

Pros: Quiet peaceful but in the middle of town with restaurants on the door step. Fabulous decor. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We loved this hotel and the town.

Cons: My husband didn’t like that it had no bar but you could get drinks from reception and we were in the heart of town with so many bars so I didn’t stop goi g for a drink. I didn’t find this an issue. Everything else was perfect.
