Fantastic staff. Excellent variety of food available. Rooms are dated and mattresses need replacing.

Very impressed with the hotel and staff.

Pros: Spacious. Pool and Restaurants were well maintained and clean. Plenty of sun loungers. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: The adult only pool area and especially the hot tub should be supervised a bit more. Some irresponsible parents were allowing very young children to play in the jacuzzi despite safety warnings. The lower level area is a lovely relaxing facility and there should be more signs reminding people that this area is for adults only.

We enjoy our stay. Our room was big, with sea view and big balcony.

Pros: Sea view with balcony, room seize and public rooms seize. Interior and furniture looks nice.

Cons: All inclusive food could be improved, especially fish option. Short of fresh produce for lunch.

Great week at Pestana Royal

Pros: Staff was incredible. Food was good but could do with some improvement. Kids club was very entertaining. Bed was good but pillows could be better. Overall a great experience and we would definitely stay here again!

All-inclusive hotel with great views overlooking the beach and sea

Pros: Our room was large and clean, and had a great sea view which was ideal for sunset. Access to the beach is straightforward via a lift, though the beach itself is very rocky so we stayed by the pool. There was plenty of space for everyone so no need to get up early to grab a sun lounger. We ate all our meals in the buffet and thought the food was of good quality with lots of variety.

Cons: Some of the common areas of the hotel looked a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. The sun loungers on the lower pool level were all quite uncomfortable. Parking a car (which is useful if you want to explore Funchal and the rest of the island) costs extra.

Cons: Maybe the cleanliness can be improved. Empty glasses and dishes were not cleared from the room.

Pros: The staff were very friendly, plenty to drink anytime Most of all, the beautiful tropical plants n flowers within the hotel grounds. Very spacious and clean hotel

Cons: Definitely did not like the open plan bathroom, Also did not like two single beds put together, we are used to sleeping in a double bed. It was most uncomfortable. Should we return we will have to request a proper bed.

Exceptional hotel with amazing staff and brilliant views

Pros: This property has exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect. Staff were welcoming and available anytime to help. Shuttle bus is available twice a day. Views from the hotel were stunning and night entertainment was great. Food was amazing with lots of variety and cater all dietary preferences.

Cons: The night entertainment could be for later as it finishes by 10
