Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel

Amazing experience, great for relaxing and enjoying Madeira.

Pros: Super attentive staff and very nice overall atmosphere. We were lucky to get a very big room, with windows overlooking the sea.

Cons: If you mind not having 100% quiet at night, then the sound of the sea might bother you. The elevator on our floor is directly across the “gym”, which is a bit outdated :|

Great location with ocean views

Pros: Amazing location with stunning views right next to the ocean. The Funchal city center is also quite close. Good room. Helpful staff. Good buffet food.

Cons: We did not like the breakfast basket (requested for a day trip) - low quality sandwiches for a super high price. We did not expect this when everything else was so great.

Pros: Breakfast buffet was excellent. The cleaning and the room service was superb. The staff was warm, welcoming and very helpful 😊 Over all a very enjoyable stay.

Cons: Nothing to complain about except the bed might have been a bit softer.

Very comfortable hotel with excellent staff.

Pros: Comfortable hotel with excellent staff. The location ocean front was excellent although we bore the brunt of the storm that passed through on New Years Eve. Breakfast is excellent and the views from the breakfast room wonderful. Staff were universally polite, professional and helpful. Special mention for Jessica and Ms Albuquerque who made our stay memorable. Overall a very enjoyable three weeks.

Cons: Very small things but we prefer a bar connected to the main hotel. The small window in the room leaked during the storm and soaked some books that were on the shelf. Service charge added to everything is unnecessary.

A good choice for visitors wanting an excellent location with good service at areasonable price

Pros: Well maintained and with pleasant helpful staff the Pestana Vila Lido’s excellent seaside location and great views compensated for the slightly worn facilities.

Cons: Happy hour only one hour!

Very Special Christmas Holiday experience

Pros: We had a truly excellent experience over the Christmas break. The staff was super attentive but not in your way, there were activities to join if you wanted (we didn't due to family plans but they all look fun), everything was very good and the location is wonderful. The arrival present from the Kids Club (colors, sponges, etc) were a very nice touch. The breakfast was very good, plenty of options and we did not get tired of it. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day and our kids (5 and 3) got a surprise present from the hotel on the morning of the 25th, this was very special for them. We got a chocolate boot which was a work of art, also great. Our kids still use the plushies they got and really made Christmas away from their house fell very special. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Cons: Nothing to note.

We enjoyed everything about the hotel, the standard maintained by the staff is excellent.

Pros: Breakfast was very good, excellent selection of fresh fruit, breads, cheeses, yogurt and hot cooked foods. The hotel is in an excellent location, with spacious bedrooms and the sea view was exceptional.

Cons: The selection of gluten free food could be improved, for example, a gluten free bread would a good addition.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views

Pros: It was our honeymoon and they went above and beyond to make it such a special time. Couldn't recommend staying here enough.
