Great place!

Pros: Lovely hotel directly at the seaside. Had everything you need and friendly staff. Because we had to leave before breakfast time on our last morning, they made us some food for on the road. Very nice!

Great Stay

Pros: Great location, Waterfront is an understatement. There were already renovations going on (December 2025) which improved the rooms & facilities. We enjoyed our stay ! Thank you

Cons: The breakfast was good but as other guests already stated/recommended. Freshly brewed Coffee / Barista would enhance the experience immensely.

I love this place and will be back.

Pros: The whole vibe of Porto da Cruz is just lovely. This hotel is clean and basic but its location is unbeatable. Breakfast is simple but enough.

Cons: There is no air conditioning. You will need ear plugs to sleep either with the fan on or the doors open. The waves breaking on the rocks is very loud.

Pros: Beautiful little hotel right on the coast had room with sea view, loved watching waves from bed and balcony. Great value for money and lovely breakfast (I am vegan breakfast so had cereal fresh fruit and plant milk). Easy to get buses to places, bus stop just round the corner (opposite pharmacy).

bella vista at vila bela

Pros: amazing views from room 202! also with a huge terrace overlooking the bay as an added bonus. the staff were kind and helpful, esp the in kitchen. good, honest breakfast options and nicely cooked food for dinner at the restaurant too.

Cons: aircon to cope with the incredibly humid environment but we knew there wouldn't be any

Fantastic place to stay!

Pros: Fantastic location, our room was spacious and had a balcony and a sizeable terrace, the breakfast delicious and a decent variety of choices. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying this hotel!

Great breakfast and a sea view

Pros: This is a small hotel on the seafront. We had a good-sized room with a balcony overlooking the promenade and the bay - you can hear the waves lapping on the shore. The breakfast buffet was a delight with cold options and a hot dish of scrambled egg and bacon. From the hotel you can walk around the bay - one way to a waterfall with a friendly cafe called 'I Surfista', the other to a former sugar mill and a surfing beach. Porto da Cruz and the Vila Bela Hotel - very relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Funchal!
