Nice with some nuances, magical nature

Pros: The location is perfect from my perspective for the purpose of our short trip. The food is ok, not something amazing, but all the basics you need. The staff was very nice and willing to help. The beds 🛌 are fine, the rooms are cleaned everyday. The views are breathtaking and worth all the negative aspects you might notice. The best beach of the island is 5 min walk.

Cons: Generally the hotel is rather visibly old. There was black fungus in our bathroom, it's a sign of the the need to renovate. The pool is not heated so it's doubtful to be used during winter months. You need to be aware, that this hotel is very close to the airport (it was a positive thing for us) BUT this comes with the mighty roar of every departing airplane 🛫

Convient location not far from the airport

Pros: Great location, clean bedroom and bathroom with a powerful shower. Extensive breakfast.

Cons: This is a very large hotel, 4 star but felt a little tired for the 4 star rating. There is a piano bar with a grand piano with most of the keys broken and it definitely has not been tuned in 30 years. Would be better to remove the piano and rename the bar.

Pros: Located in Machico, in the charming Sharming area, the hotel is less than a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport. It sits right on the frontline, offering breathtaking views over Machico harbour and the surrounding mountains. Next to the hotel, you’ll find a small historic church and an old cobbled road lined with mature trees, adding a timeless, authentic Madeira atmosphere. The location is truly exceptional—perfect for falling in love with Madeira from the very first minute.

Pros: The receptionist was so so nice and helped arrange a taxi for our early flight. He even arranged lunch boxes to take as we would miss our breakfast. The room was ready quickly and the place is super clean with great views. Thank you for such a nice stay!
