Very enjoyable economical option

Pros: Very enjoyable breakfast. Machico had great express bus service into Funchal 45 min via airport for only around EUR2.60 which made Machico a very viable and less expensive accommodation option. Nice village atmosphere. Winter is a bit unpredictable. One year 26 degrees one year 14 degrees in Jan. Just need to be prepared.

Cons: I was there first week January and it was cold and damp in my room. No heating available. I think I probably need to pay more and stay at 4 star place if visiting in winter. I hate cold and damp.

Nice hotel close to the airport

Pros: We stayed there for one night before our early flight. For us it was important to be close to the airport. Very central location. Just a few steps to the ocean and sandy beach. The rooms are comfortable with big windows and a balcony. The hotel was just perfect for our short stay. Unfortunately we had to leave very early (4am) and didn't have the chance to eat breakfast.

Good place in beachfront and near to the airport

Pros: Good location: near to the beach, restaurants, shops, airport. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast good thought could have a bit more variety. Balcony in my room was the best - tiny but with sea view. Great panoramic view from roof top.

Cons: I would prefer have shower in bathroom instead bath with shower option but that just personal preference so not big minus really. Roof top terrace have really great view but could be better arranged- only 3 plastic deckchair there but still I liked as view great.

Pros: Great communication with the hotel manager very helpful lady , lovely place to stay if your flight is late at night ,A 10 euro taxi ride takes about 15 minutes from the airport to get there, really clean and a great breakfast to 👍😊
