North Madeira Guesthouse

Pros: It was incredible place with nice view and perfect location on a island. Nice and clean hostel with kitchen, activities like morning swimming, there was evening (pizza dinner), where people's who lives there meet together. It was great decision to stay there. I will miss this place. Special thanks Stuart & Fayewww and all volunteers 🙋‍♀️

Perfection in a heavenly part of Madeira

Pros: It really exceeds the images, it’s such a lovely property and the room was so nice! Such a big comfy bed with a thick duvet which was appreciated at this time of year! Great big bathroom with everything you need! The lower floor is so nicely thought out and the place literally has so much to offer! Storage in the kitchen aswell as use of everything in it as long as it doesn’t belong to another guest of course. The outside is beautiful. Stuart and Faye were always around and so friendly and helpful when wanted which was appreciated as EasyJet made me arrive 12 hours later than planned at 2am

Cons: I didn’t like leaving. The room i’m writing this review in is not even a patch on this guesthouse!

Pros: Good location, no noise from street, close to good poncha. Very clean and cozy room. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely yard! Amazing hosts!

Cons: No AC/heating in room.

Amazing location and great vibes

Pros: Location is amazing - it is nothern side of the island, but close to the most beautiful black sand beach, just steps away from natural pools, close to Fanal forest, etc.. The place itself is nicely renovated, thought through for comfort and communal vibes. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep, but for easy wakers ear plugs adviseable as people come back or get up at different hours (I stayed in dormitory room). The house rools are strickt about the music and noise after certain hours, so that helps. Very clean! Patio is amazing for the views, breakfast and just chilling. The owners always there if you need anything, as well as volunteers and everyone is friendly. I was a solo female traveler, last time i stayed in hostel was more than 15 yrs ago, so really not used to it, but I felt very safe and welcome here. Thank you Stuart & Faye!

Cons: The only thing I can think of is parking - realistically, it's a street parking (free) either up the road, or down the road. As the road the accmodation is is so steep and narrow and I wouldn't have dared to use their parking spaces on the premises. For very brave or if you have really heavy luggage, the option is there, though. It wasn't a problem for me, as the parking down the road is fairly close.

Pros: We really enjoyed our four nights stay here. The room with a private washroom and balcony was cozy and clean. The shared kitchen had all the tools we needed. The host and hostess are really friendly, and they created a place where we felt welcomed. The terrasse and common rooms are great place to meet the other visitors.

Beautiful place in a lovely part of the island, would stay again!

Pros: Beautiful guesthouse, lovely people, nice atmosphere and great location to hang out. Everything was very clean and comfortable.

cozy is the word, one of the best hostels I've ever been

Pros: Super cozy hostel in general. The atmosphere is really relaxed and there are always people to talk, play boardgames or do stuff. The common area is super open and super friendly, it's also great to just chill and scroll on your phone or read a book. Also staff is super open and super friendly. And especially in the bed I felt super comfortable. They seem DIY and with the blackout curtain I slept like a baby.

Perfect hostel to get away from busy life, set in a picturesque town with amazing swimming locations and plenty of hikes

Pros: Perfect location. The whole property gets a thorough clean everyday so it is always tidy. Relaxed vibe with fun activities. Probably the most friendly and accommodating owner of a hostel I’ve met.

Cons: That I didn’t book longer. Honestly could stay here for a month.

Pros: Faye and Stuart were incredible hosts - made everything comfortable and welcoming from before arriving until departure. Thank you so much and keep up the great work! I would love to come back and stay here again sometime!

One of my favourite hostel stays

Pros: The beds are super comfortable, a lot of privacy in the bunks. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they really make everyone feel welcome and create a great atmosphere! there’s a lot of space both outside on the terrace and in the common room.
