An outstanding stay

Pros: Our stay at The Cliff Bay - PortoBay was exceptional. It exceeded our expectations in all aspects. The staff are delightful and so helpful in looking after all our requests such as a VIP 7 hour car trip around the island - beautiful Mercedes limo. Restaurant bookings and general advise, as this was our first trip to Madeira. The hotel itself is one of the best we have stayed in. Meticulously clean and tidy and such beautiful/interesting decor. There are just so many different aspects to the hotel to suit every taste. Which prompts me to mention the food. Delicious in every way.

5 star luxury stay with breathtaking views !

Pros: The facilities at the hotel are outstanding. Indoor outdoor pool plenty of sunbathing area's with pools at every level. You also have access to the sea. The bedroom was spacious and luxurious. Various restaurant options with comfortable seating area's around the hotel. The grounds and view from the hotel are the best I've ever seen. We had breathtaking sunrise and sunsets from our room balcony. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay as perfect as possible.

Cons: The cleaning staff cleaned our room every day even though every day we put out the 'do not disturb' sign.

Lovely luxurious stay

Pros: Love the sea views and the avista restaurant . My husband used the gym regularly. It’s very well equipped. Breakfast was great .

Pros: Our room had the most beautiful view with huge balcony Breakfast was fantastic, view outstanding Loved eating outside on terrace for breakfast So many little areas you can sit or relax and be quiet on property

Wonderful week away.

Pros: Beautiful quiet hotel, friendly and efficient staff. Definitely more suited to an older demographic of people rather than families. Room was superb and the facilities were lovely.

Cons: Could have more variety of evenings entertainment but not really a complaint.
