Fabulous. Quiet. 10 minutes walk down hill to central Funchal.

Pros: Super quiet hotel. Includes a fabulous breakfast in the grander, bigger hotel next door - where we could use the facilitates. Could choose between small hotel pool or the 2 pools in the 2 bigger interconnected hotels. lovely bathroom, large room and the biggest bed ever - a full arms span each between each other. Great patio facing the sun and part sea view and twinkling lights of Funchal at night. Nespresso machine in the lobby area and a full size pool table available. So quiet you don't even realise other people are staying there also.

We would revisit!

Pros: Very welcoming. Perfect location for walking to Funchal centre, and waterfront. Helpful staff, excellent breakfasts. We appreciated a gift left in our room to celebrate a special anniversary. Very comfortable bed and large balcony.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind!

Worth your money

Pros: Everything. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Kindness of staff. Breakfast was amazing. Location, quietness during day and night. Pool. Every day they were cleaning the room.

Cons: The only small complaint is that we were moved to different breakfast area and there weren't that many options but it's probably because of low season

gorgeous! like home

Pros: gorgeus garden, haute cuisine restaurant, unbelieavable view to city and ocean

Cons: passageway to main building could be signed a bit better

A lovely boutique hotel experience

Pros: The hotel and room was bright and airy, quiet with lovely decor. Breakfast was excellent with friendly service. Staff were always very friendly and polite. We liked the extra special touches such as the sweets in the entrance and the turndown with a chocolate at night. The location was excellent for a gentle stroll into the old town with its many shops and restaurants and for the bus tours. Overall, a great experience.

Cons: We were in a twin room on the lower ground floor and there was a lingering smell of drains which the hotel are aware of and are addressing. There was also a broken floorboard which needs replacing.

A great week in Madeira

Pros: Big and bright and clean room. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons: The gym was poor. Two running machines didnt work, nor did one ofthe cycling machine. The rowing machine had no resistance so was ineffective.

Hotel is very good. Breakfast should be avoided. Better options around.

Pros: Location is great, free parking was very convenient.

Cons: Breakfast wasn't good. They don't have the machinery to keep food properly refrigerated. Dishes a la carte not good also.

Pros: Hospitality is exceptional. My husband and I've spent anniversary in this hotel and it was magical. Hotel gave us champagne and chocolates. Hotel staff was always nice and helpful. Room and shower were clean and neat. Territory had the prettiest flowers and little awesome garden. Room and view were amazing. Location is also nice, you can reach many restraunts by foot. To get to city center we took a bus as bus stop is next to the hotel, but it also possible by walking (to get to botanical garden cable car ~30 minutes but very hilly). Before booking we mistakenly saw only stairs on pictures, but hotel is modern and has elevator and AC was working properly.

Amazing Boutique Hotel

Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. All the staff were lovely and the entire space was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Loved our room - very comfy bed - and the shared areas like the reading room, chess area and the pool! Breakfast was exceptional! Would Love to come back one day.

Relaxing stay in comfortable small hotel with great breakfast

Pros: Lovely traditional property with added modern rooms. The hotel has a boutique feel and although close to the main road is very quiet with the windows closed for sleeping. Great breakfast in the neighbouring sister property with lots of choice including fresh fruit and juice. Also a cooked to order menu. Special shout out to Maria Anjos the friendly waitress. Our room on the 1st floor was very spacious with comfortable twin beds

Cons: Ideally would have liked 2 chairs in the bedroom, there was only one with foot stall. Teabags weren’t replaced in our room or the lounge area and our mugs weren’t washed. These are very small negatives and we would recommend the hotel. It is a hilly walk into central Funchal but we managed it many times in our late 60s!
